Rembrandt

Description

Any exhibition dedicated to the work of Rembrandt is eagerly awaited, but the new joint project of London's National Gallery and Amsterdam's State Museum is not just another exhibition, but an unprecedented collection of works by the great Dutchman. The exhibition focuses on the later years of Rembrandt's life, his most fruitful period - the masterpieces created by him at this time are rightly considered his defining works, they shaped our perception of the artist and his work. With the help of curators and art historians, the film carefully examines each of the key paintings of the exhibition and paints the character of a living person who hid behind the legendary name "Rembrandt", which for many became the personification of great European art.
